This Privacy Policy explains how RevisionGoat ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and related services (the "Services").
Information We Collect
- Account information: email address and basic profile information when you sign in (for example via Google) to authenticate your account.
- App data you provide: subjects, sessions, schedules, and related inputs you add to create your study plan.
- Device information: basic technical data such as device type, operating system, and app version to ensure app performance and reliability.
- Analytics and usage data: we use PostHog to collect anonymised analytics data about how you use the app, including which features you interact with, session duration, and app navigation patterns. This helps us improve the app and fix bugs.
- Session replay data: we may record anonymised screen interactions (session replays) to understand how users experience the app and identify usability issues. Personal information such as text you type is automatically masked in these recordings.
How We Use Information
- To provide, personalise, and improve the Services.
- To authenticate you and maintain your session.
- To communicate important updates and respond to support requests.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and ensure reliable operation.
- To analyse app usage patterns and identify bugs, performance issues, and areas for improvement through analytics and session replay data.

Data Storage and Security
We use reputable cloud providers and industry-standard security practices to protect your data. Despite these measures, no system can be 100% secure, and you use the Services at your own risk.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

These providers process your information in accordance with their own privacy policies and applicable data protection laws.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. Analytics data is retained for up to 90 days, and session replay data for up to 30 days, after which it is automatically deleted. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
Account Deletion
You can delete your RevisionGoat account at any time by following these steps:
- Open the RevisionGoat app and sign in.
- Tap the menu button in the top right corner.
- Select Profile, then scroll to Delete account.
- Follow the prompts and confirm by typing DELETE MY ACCOUNT.
Deletion removes your study plans, sessions, and profile data from our active systems immediately. Backup copies stored for disaster recovery are purged within 30 days. If you cannot access the app, email support@revisiongoat.com from the email linked to your account and we will assist you.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Children
RevisionGoat is intended for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 and we block access to the app when a user identifies themselves as under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has used the Services without permission should contact us so we can take appropriate action.
